Empowering learners
In today’s rapidly evolving world, it is crucial that learners in schools are empowered to learn independently. This independence can be achieved, for example, through agile project management methods or digital aids to visualise the learning process. People differ in terms of age and gender, ethnic, cultural and social background, as well as interests, motivation and performance. Teaching a heterogenous group is the norm for most teachers – however, that does not make it less challenging. After all, the main aim is to meet all your learners’ needs in order to help them learn as best they can.
By focusing on differentiation, individualisation and personalisation in education, teachers can design learning experiences to meet the unique needs, strengths and aspirations of each individual learner. One important task for teachers in school is that all learners have the tools and opportunities they need to succeed, promoting educational equity and creating a generation of innovative, self-reliant individuals.
